Summary
Cleo returns from her studio to tend bread and sauce while Sonya assists in the kitchen, noting quiet upstairs after Sonya’s earlier victory over Dobbs. With Molly’s subtle help, they prep bread, lasagna, and a cake. Sonya briefly goes upstairs to launch a client website, then returns to shape loaves and discuss her growing design business and Cleo’s upcoming show.
Deciding to plan a game room, Sonya heads to the basement with Clover’s musical support and the pets. She asserts control over the gym where Dobbs attacked and imagines honoring the manor’s past. As Cleo joins, the mirror appears. Feeling welcomed rather than compelled, Sonya asks for a few minutes and steps through alone.
Inside a living vision of the servants’ hall, Sonya observes staff at work—Gracie and Frances polishing silver, Rory Bates polishing boots, Mrs. Steele darning—and meets stern butler Grimes and kind housekeeper Hobson. They introduce newly arrived undermaid Molly O’Brian, a bright, excited Irish teenager. The mirror then pulls Sonya back.
