Summary
West finishes cooling and turning out the filly, Meli, as Skylar arrives at his farm. When Meli rolls in the dirt after her bath, West uses it to explain his philosophy—horses do horse things—and prioritizes their comfort over cleanliness. Skylar, nervous around the horse, cautiously pets Meli and warms to the interaction.
A phone call rattles Skylar, and West observes her switch from vulnerable to on-camera persona to record a brief video. After she criticizes her appearance and asks for a filter, West pushes back with gentle humor, telling her to ignore the noise. Their banter softens the tension, and he nicknames her “fancy face” as he leads her to the bunkhouse.
Confronted with the sparse space, Skylar surprises West by not knowing how to make a bed, triggering his blunt comment and her defensive reaction. She reveals a controlled childhood as a touring star where basics were handled for her, insists she can learn without his help, and dismisses him.
