Chapter Two

Winter arrives at Sonya’s home and, with Cleo, offers fierce support. They pack Brandon’s belongings—electronics, clothes, toiletries—and clear space Sonya realizes he had overtaken. Neighbors Donna and Bill help and reveal Tracie had visited twice before, confirming an ongoing affair. Winter vows to dump Brandon’s things at Jerry’s, while Sonya plans lock changes and cancellations.

On Monday, Sonya dresses to project control and meets with bosses Laine Cohen and Matt Berry. Learning Brandon has portrayed her as stressed, she discards her script and bluntly explains he slept with her cousin. She requests to avoid shared projects and promises professionalism, which Laine and Matt accept.

Brandon corners Sonya privately to plead panic and “one mistake,” then pivots to blame and insult. Sonya rejects him, keeps the legally hers engagement ring to sell for a women’s shelter, and reaffirms professional boundaries.

Over the following weeks, Brandon stirs rumors and, unseen, escalates harassment: Sonya’s car is keyed, a major design is wiped and backup corrupted, and she finds four flat tires after reconstructing the work. Unable to prove his role but exhausted, Sonya tells Laine she’s done enduring the hostile atmosphere.

Sonya resigns, choosing to freelance for space and autonomy. Laine, supportive and angry on Sonya’s behalf, gifts her the Baby Mine account, urges her to take unused vacation, and commits to promoting Gina Tallo. Sonya departs determined to rebuild on her own terms.
