Overview
After four days of silence, Jess shows up during Gigi and Rowen’s dance party, apologizes to Rowen, and confronts Gigi’s fears. They reconcile and reaffirm their relationship. That night, an arson fire destroys a local home, pulling Jess into the investigation and revealing Everett and Maisy’s deepening connection.
Summary
Gigi, exhausted and anxious after four days without word from Jess, tries to distract herself and Rowen with a dance party. Jess arrives unannounced, witnesses their joy, and immediately apologizes to Rowen for yelling at the station; Rowen forgives him.
On the porch, Jess admits fault and challenges Gigi’s pattern of pushing him away. Gigi voices fears about his temper and the risk to Rowen. Jess promises to earn her trust and control his anger. Gigi chooses to try again, and they reconcile, later sharing make-up sex and quiet pillow talk.
At 2:23 a.m., Jess is called to a house fire. He rushes out, leaving Gigi worried and sleepless. Near dawn, he returns exhausted and soot-covered. After a shower together, Gigi prepares for work while Jess heads out.
Later at the hospital, Jess brings Gigi coffee and explains: a Second Street home was destroyed by arson—someone threw a gas can and a torch through the window. The resident survived but lost everything and is staying with neighbor Everett Carlson. Jess mentions Maisy was with Everett during the night, hinting at their growing relationship. Jess plans to coordinate with the fire station and re-interview the victim.
