Overview

Lauren panics at Junior's presence in Velvet but fails to make him leave, discovering he intends to behave and is genuinely transfixed by the performance. As Morgan and Stephanie's erotic scene unfolds, Lauren battles intense, unwanted arousal and resurfaced memories of Junior, finally admitting her real fear isn't his behavior but her own desire to give in to him.

Summary

From Lauren's POV, she struggles to process Junior's presence beside her in Velvet's voyeur room. She spots Taylor in the crowd, who excitedly confirms recognizing him, but finds no support. Unable to locate Ryan, Lauren panics about Junior potentially ruining the scene with offensive behavior or kink-shaming, and threatens to call in a bomb threat to make him leave. Junior calls her bluff, brushes her hair aside, and kisses her neck, igniting an unwanted arousal she blames on her history with kink and the real danger he represents.

Lauren reflects on Velvet's significance: it's a shared-ownership club where she, Sylvia, Ryan, Taylor, and others hold stakes, making it her emotional safe space. Junior promises not to embarrass her, claiming he still knows her, which she resents. She fixates on his earlier admission that she'd been important to him a decade ago, doubting his sincerity but unsettled by how quickly he apologized.

Onstage, Morgan slowly seduces his wife Stephanie, kissing up her legs, removing her underwear (which he pockets), and performing oral sex on her until she climaxes. Lauren, normally relaxed during such scenes, feels charged and aggressive, flooded with memories of teenage encounters with Junior, including losing her virginity to him before he denied knowing her.

Lauren glances at Junior and sees he's visibly aroused and transfixed by the performance, not uncomfortable as she expected. Her own arousal spikes, and she fantasizes about him despite herself. She considers hooking up with someone else afterward—Kevin/Carl or her ex-hookup Moriah—to avoid embarrassing herself in front of Ryan and Taylor by giving in to Junior. As Morgan carries Stephanie to the bed for the main act, Junior turns to Lauren with a wild, hungry look, and she realizes her real fear is her own willingness to succumb to him.
