Summary
Fate, an ancient Spartan seer, performs a grueling divination amid Delphi stones, channeling visions of patterns, probabilities, and cryptic prophecy. The message warns that a "lost one" will alter what lies ahead, bind with death’s soldiers, or else Titans will reclaim the earth and plunge it into endless war.
Grasping the dire stakes, Fate decides swift action is necessary to steer events toward peace. She hurries to the federation’s inner chamber, where leaders argue, and exerts overwhelming authority, forcing them to their knees with a crack of power.
Fate demands the reinstatement of a discarded marriage law, setting the marriage age at twenty-six, and orders Kharon and Augustus appointed as professors in the crucible this year. When Zeus questions her, Fate shuts him down, asserting her superiority and the urgency of her vision.
Fate ceremonially cuts the ribbon on the shelved law and hands it to the kneeling Zeus to pass immediately with her amendments. As the immortal leaders prostrate themselves, Fate reflects that Spartans have grown weak and that she alone now stands between Sparta’s survival and ruin.
