Escorted by Rykaia, Maevyth returns to training with Zevander and Dolion, still preoccupied by Branimir and Aleysia. Zevander introduces Propulszir, a repelling glyph to block probing. Rykaia tests by touch-mindreading, but Maevyth struggles to focus until she grips a fist and finally etches Propulszir into her palm, proving effective.

While attempting the glyph, Maevyth’s mind drops into caligorya, the darkspace where she encounters Morsana, who hints at something about Zevander before Maevyth is roused by Dolion’s spell. Dolion and Zevander warn that caligorya is dangerous, a door to one’s inner darkness, though a place to discover bloodline glyphs.

Training shifts to staff work. Zevander instructs Maevyth closely, emphasizing rhythm and control. The physical closeness and his power focus her until he urges her to release the staff. With Zevander supplying power, Maevyth commands it, suspending and spinning the staff telekinetically. The sensation intensifies, and she feels as if the flame seduces her and she is siphoning his power.

The connection snaps; Zevander abruptly ends the session and leaves. Dolion observes a new, unknown glyph freshly carved and glowing in Maevyth’s palm, drawn while channeling. Maevyth admits it felt like his power became hers. Dolion concludes the glyph could let her control another’s power and warns the magehood would destroy her if they learn of it.
