Overview
Lucian and Sloane finally have unprotected sex at his house, deepening their entanglement. Sneaking back to Sloane’s, they discover a pile of frozen rats on her porch, confirming an escalating threat. Lucian calls Nash, drawing in friends and police, exposing the relationship and forcing Sloane to accept protection.
Summary
On the drive from the bar, Lucian orders Sloane not to touch him until they reach home. He takes her to his house instead of hers, and they tear into each other the moment they arrive, escalating to unprotected sex after confirming his vasectomy and recent testing. The encounter is intense and possessive, cementing their physical connection.
Hungry afterward, they try to sneak to Sloane’s to avoid town gossip. At her porch, Lucian spots a deliberately placed pile of frozen dead rats and shields Sloane, treating it as a serious threat. Despite Sloane’s concern about privacy and attention, Lucian calls Nash to report the escalation.
Nash arrives with Lina, Naomi, and Knox, who reveal they already suspected the affair. As they wait for officers, Sloane insists it’s “just sex,” while Lucian grows angry that she hid earlier threats. Their friends place casual bets on the relationship, underscoring how visible it’s become.
Sergeant Grave Hopper and Officer Bertle collect the rats as evidence. Sloane minimizes the danger, but Lucian makes it clear he’s taking charge of her safety and insists she stay with him. Nash prepares to check Sloane’s house for further surprises while Lucian hands her off inside for safety.
