Overview
Reyna awakens captured but quickly subdues her guard, discovering the abductors are the Hunters of Artemis led by Thalia Grace. Thalia reveals they intercepted Reyna at an Amazon stronghold to protect her from Orion and camouflage the Athena Parthenos. After confirming Nico and Hedge are safe, Reyna is brought into the Amazons’ warehouse and reunited with her sister, Hylla.
Summary
Reyna regains consciousness bound to a chair with a hood over her head. Sensing a single captor nearby, she breaks the chair, disarms a teen in gray camo, and holds a knife to the girl’s throat as three more similarly dressed girls appear. Realizing they are Hunters of Artemis, Reyna demands Thalia Grace—only to discover her hostage is Thalia herself.
Escorted through windowless green corridors by Phoebe, Celyn, and Naomi, Reyna hears Thalia explain the Hunters’ alliance with the Amazons and their continent-wide efforts against monsters while the camps are divided. Thalia asks after Jason, mentions troubling dreams of their mother, and confirms Nico’s dream-warning that Orion is hunting Reyna specifically.
At secured doors, Thalia returns her knife and says Reyna’s weapons will be returned on departure, citing strict Amazon protocols after a recent Seattle incident. Thalia shows an IOU note left for Nico and Coach Hedge, and Phoebe explains she camouflaged the Athena Parthenos and believes Orion is tracking Reyna more than the statue.
Thalia departs to reinforce defenses against Orion. The Hunters lead Reyna into a vast Amazon warehouse bustling with logistics and weapon stockpiles. There, Reyna meets Amazon Queen Hylla, who greets her wryly, marking Reyna’s safe arrival and the sisters’ reunion amid looming danger.
