LII

The ground steadies as Gaea lifts off, but monsters surge and the Greek and Roman lines struggle. Percy wants to join the airborne fight, but Frank and Hazel insist the battle below needs him. Jason and Piper rise, committing to the prophecy’s trio of storm, fire, and voice.

Above, Festus grapples Gaea while Leo blasts her with fire and taunts. Jason summons a storm and venti, cocooning Gaea to keep her from touching earth, recalling the need to reverse Ouranos’s downfall by separating Gaea from her power source.

Piper demands closeness and charmspeaks through Gaea’s rage, naming eons of grief and weariness. As Jason strains to maintain altitude and contain shrapnel blasts, Piper guides Gaea toward the one thing she craves—sleep. Gaea solidifies and goes limp in Festus’s claw, but the storm begins to fail and Jason starts to black out.

Leo, wreathed in fire, tells them he can finish it but they must go. He reassures them—"I love you guys"—and releases Jason and Piper, who plummet as Festus becomes a blazing sun overhead.

A comet screams up from the ground and intercepts Festus’s fire. The collision turns the sky to gold as Jason loses consciousness, leaving the result of Leo’s plan and Gaea’s fate momentarily unseen.
