Chapter Six

Overview

Reaching Cetil after fleeing Berm, the group discovers a concealed walking-stick case designed to disguise the Water Scepter. As they seek Mikail’s safe house, they find it burned and marked “Baesinga” (traitor). The devastation implies Mikail’s father has been killed, hardening stakes and redirecting their aims toward Gaya and truth.

Summary

Royo’s group sprints for their skiff, fighting off a final Berm soldier. Royo incapacitates him and takes his nunchuka. A bell later they land on a rocky beach below Cetil, Yusan, with Gaya visible across the water. Distrustful but following Mikail, they prepare to lie low.

Aeri uncovers a hidden tube in the Weian skiff containing a split-open walking stick sized for the Water Scepter. Mikail slides the scepter inside, and it becomes a harmless-looking cane. The find eases transport of the relic, though Mikail remains protective and strained.

They climb through Cetil toward an orchard. Talk turns to Gaya’s erased history; Mikail says Yusan burned the sacred woods and the Temple of Knowledge, but Royo, Sora, and Fallador cite clues that the temple—or its doors—may still exist. The possibility sparks Mikail’s calculating focus.

As they near Mikail’s supposed safe house, a campfire stench and shared unease spread. Weapons drawn, they crest a hill to find only charred ruins. A half-eaten donkey lies nearby, suggesting time has passed since violence occurred.

At the threshold, “Baesinga” (traitor) is painted in red. The scene implies a targeted purge. Mikail reveals the ruin is his father’s home and breaks down in grief, believing his father dead. The discovery crushes hopes of sanctuary and intensifies their urgency to uncover the truth about Gaya’s past and present.
