Chapter Sixty-Three
Overview
While Mikail’s team targets King Joon, Sora and Tiyung keep watch from the Rose Palace tower and confirm Weian ships near Tamneki. Their fragile closeness is interrupted by a strike team. King Seok’s guards capture both, revealing Seok’s reach within Gaya and sowing distrust as Sora thinks Tiyung complicit.
Summary
Tiyung narrates from the Rose Palace watchtower as Sora keeps him company while Mikail, Aeri, and Royo pursue a mission to kill King Joon and seize relics. They scan the dark waters and spot a Weian ship lying in wait off Tamneki, confirming the looming threat despite the quiet night.
As they alternate watching, Tiyung probes Sora about Fallador and about her closeness with Mikail. Sora clarifies that she and Mikail share grief and guilt rather than romance, both mourning lost loves. The admission eases Tiyung, and the two draw emotionally closer, almost sharing a tender touch.
Footsteps race up the tower stairs. Expecting danger, Tiyung shields Sora and prepares to fight. A Yusanian king’s guard captain arrives with a squad, ordering Sora and Tiyung to come with them. Tiyung stalls for time, then strikes when the guards rush forward, wounding one but quickly being overwhelmed as the narrow stair feeds more soldiers onto the platform.
A commanding voice halts the fray, scolding the men for hurting “the king’s son.” A Qali Palace guard officer appears, revealing the attackers are acting on King Seok’s authority. Realizing these are his father’s men, Tiyung is stunned; Sora, thinking Tiyung complicit, looks at him with shock and betrayal as the guards carry them away.
