Overview

Harry fully accepts that he must die to end Voldemort. He opens the Snitch, uses the Resurrection Stone to summon his parents, Sirius, and Lupin, and walks into the Forbidden Forest. Revealing himself to Voldemort, Harry refuses to fight, and Voldemort strikes him down with the Killing Curse.

Summary

Reeling from Snape’s memories, Harry realizes he is meant to die to destroy the part of Voldemort’s soul within him. He steels himself, resolves to go alone without farewells, and leaves Dumbledore’s office under the Invisibility Cloak, passing mourning students and the dead in the Great Hall.

Outside, Harry reveals himself to Neville to ensure continuity: he instructs Neville to kill Nagini if Ron and Hermione cannot. He then passes Ginny comforting a wounded girl but forces himself onward, choosing not to speak. At the Forest’s edge, weakened and unable to cast a Patronus, he clings to each remaining moment of life.

Recalling the Snitch’s message, Harry opens it by admitting he is about to die and finds the Resurrection Stone. Turning it thrice, he summons James, Lily, Sirius, and Lupin. They reassure him and promise to stay with him, their presence shielding him from the Dementors as he walks deeper into the Forest toward Voldemort.

Following Yaxley and Dolohov, Harry reaches a firelit clearing crowded with Death Eaters, giants, and Nagini encased in a magical sphere. Voldemort awaits Harry’s surrender. Harry drops the Cloak and steps forward; Hagrid, bound nearby, shouts in panic before being silenced. Harry resists drawing his wand, refusing to fight.

Facing Voldemort across the flames, Harry stands resolute. Voldemort raises the Elder Wand and casts the Killing Curse. Green light engulfs Harry, and everything is gone.
