Zellion emerges from the dawn unburned, his armor having withstood the sun, but he confirms Auxiliary is truly dead. He flies toward a group of Beaconites trapped before the advancing light, landing hard as Aux’s remaining power wanes. He summons Aux’s body as a shield and reveals his face to calm the crowd.

Zellion orders Solemnity Divine to shave a sliver from a captured supercharged sunheart for the Dawnchaser, then mounts the rest on the shield. Channeling its power, he expands the shield into a reflective dome that encloses the people and floor, aiming to block the incoming heat and magma.

Contemplation presses him for answers, and Zellion explains a simple method to recharge sunhearts: seed one with personal heat using the familiar prayer, then leave it in the sun to trigger a powerful response. He charges Contemplation to spread this knowledge to change Canticle’s prospects.

As the dome seals and darkness falls, Contemplation thanks him and speaks of faith in Adonalsium’s plan. Zellion, skeptical, still concedes that Aux—a being of a Shard—was his salvation. Contemplation reports Rebeke and Elegy were taken.

Zellion promises to try to help, accepts the role the people see in him, and declares he will deal with the Cinder King. He departs aboard the Dawnchaser toward Union while the sunlight envelopes the dome, which holds, fulfilling Auxiliary’s final command to defend the people.
