Overview
Dorian’s trapped consciousness is forced to watch as the Valg prince controlling his body tortures a rebel prisoner for the King of Adarlan. Summary
Within Dorian Havilliard’s possessed body, the Valg demon prince forces Dorian’s trapped awareness to witness a prisoner being tortured. The prisoner is strapped to a table while the demon uses Dorian’s hands to tear into him and revels in the man’s suffering.
The King of Adarlan, described as the man who usually sits on the glass throne, interrogates the prisoner about the location of the rebels. The prisoner insists he does not know, but the king demands an answer.
The demon tightens a cruel device onto the prisoner’s face, making the man scream. Dorian is horrified and powerless, unable to stop his own body from obeying the demon or to escape the demon’s enjoyment of the pain.
