Amina hastens the damaged Marawati to sea, declining Magnun’s invitation to join his raiders but keeping the meteor dagger he insists she retain. Longing for home, she nevertheless finds a lime-green peri feather aboard, a reminder she still owes four Transgressions. Suspicious of Khayzur’s motives, she reflects on her new strength and Sight.

Raksh reveals he engineered a loophole in the peris’ “not-deal” so Amina’s future exploits can become legend. Tempted by adventure yet torn by motherhood, Amina recognizes that Raksh craves her rising renown and will never willingly let her go.

Amina distracts Raksh with intimacy, then chains and sets him adrift on a makeshift raft rather than kill or divorce him, fearing deeper bonds and needing his lore for Marjana’s sake. She orders the Marawati to make speed, despite Tinbu’s rebroken leg and the crew’s wounds.

She mourns three fallen sailors and updates her friends on the peri court: the price of her freedom is retrieving four more perilous artifacts. Dalila, Tinbu, and Majed volunteer to join, arguing their skills improve her odds; Amina accepts, mindful of the danger and her child.
