32. Ryan

Ryan arrives late and nervous to Maggie’s out-of-town wedding, dreading Indy might return to Alex. During the ceremony, Ryan spots Indy as a bridesmaid and can’t look away; when Indy finally sees him, she beams. Though paired with Alex for the recessional, Indy keeps exchanging quiet looks with Ryan.

Between ceremony and reception, Ryan endures fan attention and hides in a cove. Indy finds him, and as Ryan starts a heartfelt confession, Indy interrupts to say she loves him and has already told Alex her heart and home are with Ryan. Ryan reciprocates, promising enduring love.

At the reception, Indy’s friends try to keep her away from Ryan and seat her near Alex, but she and Ryan remain focused on each other. Ryan confronts Alex at the bar, warning him never to make Indy cry again and declaring he’ll protect her at any cost, pointedly hinting at a future where Indy shares his last name.

Rejoining Indy, Ryan is recognized by a guest; Indy introduces Ryan as her boyfriend and leads him toward the exit. On the way out, Indy tells Maggie she no longer fits with the old group and invites a friendship without agendas. Maggie says she’s happy for Indy. Indy and Ryan leave together, choosing their shared home and future, while Ryan notes he’s cleared for light practice on his recovering knee.
