The Beginning

The chapter frames the universe through balance: beginnings with endings, light with dark. From Chaos arise six First gods—Falein, Celeste, Anala, Serafina, Achaz, and Arius. Achaz and Arius, emerging first, assume greatest power, creating and judging to preserve equilibrium.

The Firsts birth Lesser gods who spread across the stars, establishing realms where worlds grow at varied paces, are favored differently, and sometimes fail. As new beings proliferate, the gods create demigods with mortals, whose descendants become the Legacy.

Rising fear that a single bloodline could dominate prompts an accord: no more demigods, and the Legacy are gathered onto a dedicated world. They receive mortal labor, advanced technologies, and, crucially, the Fae.

The Fae are engineered to balance divine blood in the Legacy, their magic feeding and moderating Legacy power, thereby making the Legacy reliant on them. In return, the Fae gain elemental gifts, heightened senses, and long lives to safeguard the bloodlines.

With the system established, the gods vow noninterference and leave that world. Over time, chaos spreads across the stars—wars erupt, worlds are ended, abandoned, or reborn. The chapter closes warning that gods are fickle and that what should be forgotten rarely remains so, foreshadowing renewed divine entanglement.
