13. Theon

Before breakfast, Theon determines to secure Tessa’s submission after his father’s interference ruined a near-breakthrough. He tells Luka and Axel he will do whatever is needed. Tessa arrives impeccably dressed, follows permissions rigidly, and answers minimally while Theon manages her food and plans a supply trip to Castle Pines for Acropolis preparations.

After breakfast, Theon presents Tessa with a new, tightly controlled phone; her muted reaction reveals she doesn’t know her exact birthday until he tells her. He programs only Arius contacts and enchantments. Luka warns Theon he is repeating Valter’s methods, but Theon insists the pressure is temporary until she accepts the bond.

In Castle Pines, Tessa stays glued to Theon and behaves flawlessly. He buys her a laptop and tablet, again planning blocks. Back home, she quietly requests tea on the balcony; Theon allows it under watch. His attempt to talk privately fails as she postpones any further expectations, and they prepare for dinner.

At the family table, Tessa remains perfectly composed. Valter praises Theon for “instilling submission,” hinting at future heirs; Theon bristles, steadying Tessa under the table. Afterward, Luka escorts Tessa to walk off the strain, while Axel challenges Theon that such control will change her—and notes Theon has already changed to appease their father.

In their rooms, Theon asks to kiss Tessa to ease the bond; she declines. He urges her to accept the bond, but she admits she’s trying and needs space. Later, she falls asleep by the window while the brothers play cards. Debating regret, Theon concludes he would not choose another Source, even knowing the damage being done.
