IX. Life — Parisa

Parisa remains at the manor after the conflicts, waiting without knowing for what. She recalls Callum’s disillusionment about Atlas’s death and clings to a private mantra—“Better not tell you now.”

Restless, Parisa surveys lives at a distance: her estranged family, Atlas’s history, and Dalton’s meticulous notes. In the rooms, she notes artifacts of the others—Callum’s empty bottle, Nico’s socks, Reina’s fairy tales—yet chooses not to reach out to Libby or Tristan. She passes days reading, walking the gardens, and waiting without admitting it.

At night, Parisa dreams. She intermittently hears Nico’s laugh and receives a message from a dream-presence offering to teach her how to use the powerful object she was given. Parisa accepts in thought, acknowledging that her use may not be purely good; the dreamer concedes the same, deepening the possibility of mentorship and power.

Finally, the house itself reacts, relieved by a new presence. Parisa recognizes she was waiting for a someone, not a something. Reina arrives from the house, and Parisa’s inner refrain returns—answers withheld for now—as the chapter closes on their quiet reunion and the suggestion of what comes next.
