Tristan Caine invades the Wessex Corporation’s London headquarters, dismantling alarms and wards and riding the lift to the executive floor. He freezes the guards’ hearts, brushes past the retina scan, and enters James Wessex’s office, handing his sunglasses to VP Rupesh Abkari and returning James’s monogrammed gun—now under Tristan’s control.

When James refuses to lift the bounty on the Alexandrians, Tristan collapses the room into his control, demonstrating that James’s perceived power is illusory. Under that pressure, James calls Pérez and orders the marks canceled. Pérez confirms Zai is underground, Hassan is out, and China has withdrawn after a telepath incapacitated their operatives in their sleep; with Wessex out, resources end. The archives remain inaccessible.

As James taunts Tristan about patience and true power, Tristan silently disrupts James’s magic—like a pinpoint neurological sabotage—reducing him to ordinariness. The act exposes James’s fear of mortality and his failed attempts to buy lasting power for himself and his non-medeian children.

An unidentified platinum-blond figure briefly appears on the cameras before all security feeds cut to black, flipping off the lens. Tristan reclaims his sunglasses, dumps the gun into Rupesh’s hands, quips at James’s “veni, vidi, vici,” and departs, leaving James to confront the emptiness of his empire without magic.
