Overview
At the hospital’s 125th gala, Alexis defies her parents, rejects Neil, and reveals a bold plan: Royaume will launch free satellite clinics, starting in Wakan and Cambodia, and she will relocate to Wakan. After believing Daniel won’t come, he arrives; they reconcile publicly and envision a shared future.
Summary
Exhausted and unable to reach Daniel, Alexis attends the lavish Royaume quasquicentennial gala, anxious he won’t come. Learning from Doug that Daniel may have left Wakan, she steels herself to proceed. While greeting guests with her parents, Alexis endures their condescension and her sisters’ gossip, growing determined to change course.
As dinner begins, her father belittles Daniel. Alexis snaps, forbidding further insults and revealing she bought separate seats and invited Daniel. She warns her parents their control will cost them family, declares she’s resigned as chief effective tomorrow, and heads to the stage.
Alexis delivers an unscripted speech: Royaume will expand beyond its walls with free satellite clinics. The first will open in Wakan; a second in Cambodia alongside Derek and Nikki. Alexis will relocate to oversee Wakan and lead fundraising. The announcement earns thunderous applause—including from her stunned but impressed parents.
Believing Daniel isn’t coming, Alexis resolves to move to Wakan regardless. Then Daniel appears in a tux. They meet on the dance floor, exchange apologies, and reaffirm their love. Daniel admits Bri rescued him after his truck broke down. They dance under a spotlight, discuss their future in Wakan, joke about marriage, and seal their reconciliation with a kiss.
