Overview
From Blake’s POV, he finds Medra under assault at The Drained Rose and, driven by possessive fury, kills the highblood attacker. Blake openly claims Medra as “mine,” exposing the depth and darkness of his attachment. He retrieves injured Neville and escorts Medra away, shifting their volatile bond.
Summary
Blake arrives at The Drained Rose, initially dismissing the usual rough sounds until he hears Medra Pendragon scream. He sees Medra’s cloak torn away, her dress ripped, and an older highblood pawing at her, triggering a surge of possessive rage.
Blake attacks, ripping the highblood from Medra and slamming him into a wall. Despite the attacker’s age and presumed strength, Blake overpowers him, driven by the conviction that Medra is “mine” and must be protected at any cost.
Holding the highblood by the throat, Blake forces him to renounce any claim, then snaps his neck without mercy. He turns to Medra, who is shaken and clutching her cloak, and reaches for her; she allows him to lead her toward the door.
Medra stops him to point out Neville, the fluffin, injured on the carpet. On learning the attacker harmed Neville, Blake’s fury spikes again, but he focuses on getting them out. He scoops up Neville and tells Medra he is taking them back, asserting control as they leave the scene.
