Overview
Vaughn returns battered, prompting Medra to blame Blake and launch a reckless attack that he refuses to escalate, exposing volatile tension between them. Medra then finds Blake intended to return the healed fluffin, complicating her assumptions. Vaughn reveals Coregon was his attacker and an unknown rescuer saved him. Professor Rodriguez summons Medra to the compulsory House Leader ceremony.
Summary
Vaughn appears in History of Sangratha bruised and with a broken arm, claiming an accident. Medra, recalling the beach encounter and suspecting highblood violence, presses him. Before he admits anything, class begins, but Medra decides Blake must be responsible because of Theo and vows to confront him.
In Advanced Weaponry, Medra attacks Blake before class. Blake dodges with inhuman speed, restrains rather than injures her, and their struggle turns charged as Medra tries to force him to fight. Coregon warns her off, then a crowd gathers until Professor Sankara stops the altercation and orders everyone to the arena for the House Leader ceremony.
After Blake leaves, Medra hears a whimper, finds his gear bag, and discovers the healed fluffin inside, realizing Blake had planned to return it. This discovery unsettles her certainty about his guilt.
Vaughn intercepts Medra, insisting Blake was not the attacker and revealing Coregon Phiri beat him. He adds that an unknown person found him on the beach and delivered him to the infirmary. As the arena fills, Professor Rodriguez seizes Medra, declaring she is late and must attend the House Leader ceremony immediately.
