Luther leads Diem to an opulent Sophos washroom. Bantering about forbidden inventions and his reclaimed sword, they undress, the mood shifting from teasing to hungry. Diem briefly fears rejection as in Umbros, but Luther reassures her, kneeling and exploring her scars and memories; they trade touch and heat under the rain.

In the water, Luther watches Diem wash at his urging, then stops them on the brink of release. He turns off the water, positions her, and—rather than taking her—chooses tenderness. He admits he waited years not just for a Queen but for the woman he loves. He massages her sore muscles with oils, easing the weight of war.

Diem tries to rush, but Luther makes her wait, intent on care. They exchange confessions—Diem says she loves him; he smiles and resumes their slow ritual, washing her hair and body, and she does the same for him.
