Overview
Julia is blindsided by surveillance footage suggesting Emmett slept with Evelyn and is physically ill from the shock. Sheltering with Parker, Julia reevaluates the evidence and Richard’s motives, realizing the clip may be manipulated. She regrets accusing Emmett by text and decides to trust him and verify the truth.
Summary
Julia arrives early to work, buoyed by hope for a future with Emmett once the show ends. In the production trailer, Ben plays security footage of Evelyn visiting Emmett’s cottage, accompanied by explicit audio. Shocked and nauseated, Julia flees and texts Emmett, “How could you?”
Alone behind the trailers, Julia vomits and spirals, recalling Theo’s warnings while struggling to reconcile them with Emmett’s recent tenderness and open dislike of Evelyn. Parker finds her, leads her to a crawl space, and offers bourbon and perspective.
As they talk, Parker describes Emmett’s guardedness since their parents’ deaths and how Julia uniquely got through to him. She challenges the footage’s reliability, noting the low-quality visuals and Julia’s uncertainty about the male voice. Parker urges Julia to weigh Emmett’s character against the show’s manipulation and Richard’s track record.
