Overview
After Anastasia’s near-drowning, she spends a calm recovery week under Nathan’s protective care, battling nightmares while he dotes on her. Calling her parents, spa visits, and a quiet holiday ease the trauma. Their gift exchange underscores commitment—Nathan buys Anastasia an iPad for therapy, and she surprises him by wearing his Titans jersey with his name—reigniting intimacy and affirming their bond.
Summary
In the calm week following the lake incident, Anastasia is discharged from the hospital with Nathan persistently advocating for extra checks. Despite exhaustion and nightmares, she feels buoyed by Nathan’s care and their exchanged I-love-yous on the drive home.
Back at the house, Nathan keeps the fires blazing, fussing over her health as they settle into a low-key holiday. Anastasia reassures him she’s safe, and they finally open delayed Christmas presents, joking and reconnecting in a lighter mood.
They exchange gifts from friends: Sabrina’s lingerie and a Polaroid, JJ’s red corset for Nathan, and practical items for Anastasia, including a masala dabba and self-defense classes. The gifts spark laughter and show their support network’s presence even from afar.
Trading personal presents, Nathan gives Anastasia luxurious pajamas and, unwrapped, an iPad so she can reliably access therapy and school tools, demonstrating his thoughtfulness. She’s overwhelmed but grateful.
For her final gift, Anastasia reveals herself in Nathan’s Titans jersey emblazoned with “Hawkins,” signaling pride in their relationship. The moment shifts from recovery to renewed passion as they lean into intimacy, closing the chapter on a tender, affirming note.
