Two | Nathan
Overview
Nathan Hawkins wakes after a hazy night to find he slept with Kitty Vincent, undercutting his vow to focus on hockey and school. Later, Coach Faulkner reveals the rink’s cooling system was destroyed, implicating the team in a revived prank war. A campus-wide athlete meeting looms, threatening their season and futures.
Summary
Nathan Hawkins wakes hungover with Kitty Vincent in his bed, horrified he broke his promise to avoid drama. Kitty brusquely demands an executive Uber and leaves, confirming she and Danny Adeleke have broken up. Nathan’s roommates—Robbie, JJ, and Henry—tease him, and Nathan laments slipping from his plan to prioritize hockey and school.
On the way to classes, Nathan reflects on turning down an early NHL start with the Vancouver Vipers to study sports medicine and lead the Maple Hills team as captain. He shoulders responsibility for team discipline while balancing exhaustion, secret pre-practice doughnut runs with JJ, and academic uncertainty.
Plans shift when a team group chat redirects them from the rink to the awards room. Nathan and JJ arrive to find Coach Neil Faulkner furious and the team on edge. After silencing Nathan, Coach announces the rink’s generator and cooling system were destroyed, accusing the team of reigniting banned prank traditions.
Nathan insists the team drew a line under pranks, but Coach cites administrative outrage and warns of severe consequences. With a mandatory all–student-athlete meeting imminent, Nathan realizes the sabotage could derail their season and jeopardize hockey careers.
