Epilogue

Jeremy reflects on nearly losing Veronica and Teddy in the house fire, which he attributes to Naomi. He recounts his shock that Naomi almost killed Teddy and notes Veronica is too shaken to share all the details. He resolves that Naomi set the blaze and died in the cellar.

Jeremy then reveals a past encounter: when Teddy was two, Clay Barkley confronted him, claiming Naomi had stolen Clay’s infant son. A crystal with Naomi’s logo found in Clay’s car pointed to her, and a secret paternity test confirmed Teddy was not Jeremy’s child.

Fearing losing Teddy, Jeremy arranged Clay’s death by staged overdose and resolved that only he and Naomi knew the truth. After falling for Veronica, Jeremy began engineering Naomi’s downfall: misleading her on schedules, hiring Rosita to document unreliability, planting the knife-hidden elephant for incriminating photos, and secretly lacing her kombucha with crushed Tylenol to mimic suicide, which failed.

Jeremy exploited Naomi’s outburst at Teddy’s party to pursue full custody and planned to finish her off later. With the fire, Naomi died, and Jeremy considers his problems solved.
