As the team preps to depart, Gray embraces Wren and warns her to be careful, balancing his protective instincts with respect for her skills. Their brief, intimate goodbye is witnessed by Karra, whose cool reaction masks hurt; she admits she misjudged Gray’s capacity for deep feeling. Evlynne arrives with gear, uneasy and suspecting a trap, but still flies the team out.

They reach Bramble Base, an old reinforced nuclear bunker now housing roughly two hundred people. Declan greets them, and Adrienne explains that Travis will transmit the meeting coordinates only two hours before midnight, a tactic that prevents an ambush but also increases risk for the team.

While they wait, Declan gives Wren a tour: utilitarian dorms, storage and water systems, recreation spaces, and hydroponics. In the medical bay, Wren sees Fiona and is surprised to find Poppy present; Fiona’s wary disapproval contrasts with Poppy’s eagerness to be involved outside the mountain.

Back in the briefing room, the coordinates still haven’t arrived. Teriq argues it matches Kallister’s warnings, and Adrienne checks with Evlynne, who reports clear radar and no movement. The team debates aborting if nothing arrives soon, and Adrienne sets a thirty-minute cutoff.

Before they can act, a sudden explosion shakes the bunker, violently validating their fears that the meeting may be a setup and plunging the operation into immediate crisis.
