Summary
The planetary Mind narrates explosive growth as more Otherlike clusters rejoin it, each reconnection bringing novel tools and perspectives. With expanded perception, it recognizes a vast spire in the ice desert, understanding it was constructed from the sky, and begins formulating ideas about time, distance, and connectivity.
Detecting a legacy of the Stranger, the Mind observes a radiating, alien network spreading from the desert structure. It dispatches aerial bodies to land exploratory parts, suffering losses but returning with valuable samples. Unlike earlier, cruder dissections, the Mind now probes alien segments at multiple scales, activating components to watch their routines and infer governing rules.
