Chapter 26

Overview

Grace and Logan attend quarterback Beau Maxwell’s raucous party, where Grace is unsettled by the attention Logan receives from other women. Tension spikes until Grace admits jealousy, and Logan reassures her he’s committed to her. Meanwhile, Dean clashes with Sabrina, hinting at their charged history. The chapter ends with Grace and Logan turning reconciliation into intimacy.

Summary

Grace and Logan’s second date takes them to Beau Maxwell’s notoriously rowdy house party. Though wary of the football crowd, Grace follows Logan inside, meeting Beau and spotting Dean making out with a redhead. Grace notes Beau’s easy rapport with Logan and the party’s heavy, frenetic energy.

Dean trades sharp barbs with Sabrina, whose arrival and exit with Beau highlight simmering animosity and sexual tension between her and Dean. Logan and Beau drift into sports talk while Grace, seated in Logan’s lap, is surprised by her own desire and by the novelty of taking things slow with Logan.

As they mingle, a stream of women greet and flirt with Logan, touching him and using pet names. The relentless attention needles Grace; despite Logan’s attempts to disengage, her frustration and insecurity mount. She abruptly excuses herself, and Logan follows her upstairs, concerned.

Pressed, Grace blurts out her jealousy, questioning how many women Logan has been with. Logan frames it as jealousy and gently pins her to the wall, assuring her she’s the only one he sees and that he barely remembers the others. He clarifies that Sandy, one of the flirts, is gay, easing Grace’s sting.

Relief and arousal replace Grace’s irritability. Logan admits her possessiveness turns him on; Grace leans into it, asking for more reassurance. Their reconciliation escalates into heated foreplay, and they decide to take things further in the nearby bathroom.
