CHAPTER 93: JAMESON

Overview

On the private jet, Grayson confirms that Savannah’s trust can be accessed early through marriage, making her relationship with Kent Trowbridge’s son a dangerous part of Kent’s larger scheme. The Hawthornes realize Kent may be trying to trap Acacia and Savannah financially and personally, so they decide to target him directly.

Grayson identifies Kent’s home office safe and exposed passwords as their best leads for proof of fraud. With all four brothers and Avery aligned, the chapter shifts the story from suspicion to an active plan against Kent.

Summary

After leaving for the private jet, Grayson obtains the trust paperwork tied to Acacia and her daughters. Avery reads the key clause aloud: the trustee controls the money until the beneficiary turns thirty or gets married.

Grayson explains why that matters. Savannah is seventeen, almost eighteen, and dating Kent Trowbridge’s son, which makes marriage a potential route for Kent’s family to gain access to her trust. Jameson connects this to Grayson’s suspicions that Kent is pressuring Acacia by draining her finances and using the FBI investigation to leave her dependent on him or his son.

Xander asks whether the boyfriend is a problem, and Grayson confirms that he is. Grayson describes seeing the son touch Savannah against her wishes and the father do the same kind of controlling, invasive touching to Acacia. Grayson characterizes the son as weak and entitled, but Kent as genuinely dangerous.

Nash immediately proposes taking Kent down, and Jameson recognizes the advantage of having all four Hawthorne brothers united. Grayson says they need proof of Kent’s illegal activity, especially evidence that Kent emptied Acacia’s trust. Grayson identifies a safe in Kent’s home office as a likely target and reveals that Kent carelessly keeps all his passwords taped inside his desk.

The brothers and Avery prepare to act. Nash, Xander, and Avery appear to share the same plan, and Xander declares that the operation should be fun, signaling that the Hawthornes are ready to go on the offensive against Kent Trowbridge.
