Summary
Aurora, recovering after Farren’s abduction attempt, welcomes her mother at the ice castle. Aurora recounts every detail of the cave ordeal, choosing honesty over protecting Farren. Her mother, furious and afraid, notes the Starmaker’s visible anger on the journey and suggests he cares for Aurora.
Confronted by her own desire and fear, Aurora admits she cares deeply for the Starmaker but dreads reliving her mother’s agony after her father’s death.
