Summary
Tessa wakes in Theon St. Orcas’s townhouse rooms, haunted by darkness and their single past sexual encounter. Drawn by the bond and need for relief, she initiates intimacy, but Theon halts unless she declares herself his. The moment cools, yet the bond eases temporarily.
Her power thrashes against the suppressing bands on her wrists. When Theon notices her pain, he insists she tell him when it becomes unbearable and admits he and his brothers endured similar restraints under Valter. He promises to take her to the training arenas—warded for Legacy and Fae—to release the bands safely.
Amid tensions in the household—Ford replacing murdered Pen, a withdrawn Axel, and fire-Fae Katya under watch—Theon lays out formal clothes, signaling a serious day. On the drive with Luka, he reveals a rare full-Tribunal hearing will decide whether Tessa, newly revealed as non-Fae with Achaz magic, can remain his Source.
