Prologue

Overview

In a world stilled by divine attention, the moon Slátra falls and births a fae woman who is swiftly captured and brutalized. The Creators observe, haunted by a past sin against Caelis and foreboding of ruin. This event signals a reckoning driven less by wrath than by enduring love.

Summary

The day begins unnaturally still, as if the world itself is holding its breath. The Creators—Ignos, Bulder, Clode, and Rayne—seem to withdraw their presence, and those attuned sense a dire omen as the Moonplume moon above The Shade wobbles. A scream of grief pierces the calm, followed by desperate words born of loneliness.

Suddenly Slátra, the moon, plummets from the sky, striking the land with shuddering force. From the luminous wreckage, a fae woman emerges, blooded and determined, her eyes glittering with ink-dark resolve. She races toward Arithia with vicious intent but is intercepted, subdued, and thrown into a mountain cell overseen by a male consumed by bloodlust.

As the fae woman is tortured, she is forged harder and sharper. The Creators witness these events with grim recognition, understanding that this moment echoes a wrongdoing from many phases ago. They acknowledge their complicity and the inevitability of consequence.

The Creators recall the male the moon-fallen fae once loved, a wanderer whose grief and devastating words could shatter the world. They had once laid a trap and tore Caelis to shreds, caging him into unending agony. Yet in all their calculations, they failed to account for a force greater than moonfall or divine will: love.
