Chapter 92
Overview
As the world quakes from the falling moons, Raeve sprints through Arkyn’s dungeons, killing two masked guards and seizing their keys. She catalyzes a prison break by arming inmates to free themselves and warns them of the cataclysm above. The chaos shifts control underground, positioning Raeve as the spark for mass escape.
Summary
The tunnels convulse as the moons fall, fracturing stone and flooding the air with choking dust. Raeve races north through Arkyn’s familiar dungeon warren, this time finding the cells overflowing with desperate prisoners who pound bars and cry out for help.
Two of Arkyn’s masked guards rush by, beating at reaching hands while barking orders. Using their distraction, Raeve closes in and breaks both their necks, then strips their cloaks for keys. The immediate threat neutralized, the surrounding cells fall silent, watching her next move.
Raeve tosses a keyring into the closest cell, instructing the inmates to free as many as possible. A young null catches it, while an older female asks what is happening above. Raeve answers that the moons are falling and moves on, leaving the prisoners to unlock cells as the quakes intensify, setting a broader escape in motion.
