Overview
On visiting day, Aurora enjoys playful moments with Russ and friends before a call from her father shatters her mood: he’s rushing a wedding and wants her there mainly for magazine optics, forbidding a plus-one. Overwhelmed, Aurora tries to flee camp, but Russ persuades her to stay, affirming her worth and their bond. As they turn to intimacy for comfort, Jenna’s arrival abruptly interrupts.
Summary
It is visiting day at Honey Acres, leaving counselors with rare downtime. Aurora, Emilia, Russ, and Xander stage photos for Emilia’s neglected summer camera. Russ struggles to look relaxed until Aurora kisses him, and later she notices candid shots where Russ gazes at her with unguarded affection, deepening her sense of being wanted.
A call from Aurora’s father upends her calm. He announces his engagement to Norah and orders Aurora to fly to Palm Springs right after camp ends for a rushed wedding timed around his schedule and a magazine exclusive. He implies her presence is needed for optics, denies her a plus-one, and dismisses her new relationship as a fling. The conversation leaves Aurora hollow and furious.
Spiraling, Aurora packs to run from Honey Acres, convinced the camp family is make-believe and she will disappoint everyone. Russ finds her in tears, gently grounds her, and promises she is wanted and valued. He tells Aurora that if she leaves, he will leave, urging her not to let her father keep hurting her. Aurora admits her fear of being abandoned; Russ reassures her that she is strong on her own and that he is choosing to stay.
Comfort turns to intimacy as they reaffirm their connection and Aurora asks Russ to replace her bad feelings with something good. As they begin to undress and kiss, Jenna calls from outside and opens the door, abruptly interrupting them.
