Chapter Twenty-One: Aurora
Overview
During the storm, Aurora and Russ finally sleep together in his cabin. They pause to discuss protection, find condoms in Xander’s things, and have mutually affirming sex. Afterward, Russ offers gentle aftercare and admits he might be obsessed with Aurora, and she promises to stay the night—deepening their relationship.
Summary
Still charged from their storm kiss, Aurora and Russ stumble into Russ’s cabin and escalate into eager, consensual intimacy. They undress, trade praise, and begin with foreplay, with Russ attentive to Aurora’s comfort and responses.
When they move to have intercourse, Aurora asks for condoms. Russ realizes he has none and declines unprotected sex despite both being recently tested, prioritizing safety. Aurora searches Xander’s side of the cabin and locates condoms, resolving the impasse.
They have sex, finding a rhythm that centers Aurora’s pleasure and closeness. After the first round, Russ positions them on their sides and they continue, both climaxing again. Throughout, Russ is verbally affirming, and Aurora feels desired and safe.
Afterward, Russ handles cleanup, pulls Aurora under the duvet, and spoons her while he reads. In quiet pillow talk, he admits he might be obsessed with her; Aurora demurs but stays, promising to be there when he wakes—marking a shift from cautious flirtation to committed intimacy.
