Fionn calls his brother Lachlan, pressing for intel on Matthew Cranwell. Lachlan provides basics—personal data, debts, a past suspension for aggravated assault, minor citations, and the recent eye surgery—but nothing overtly damning. Fionn resists asking about Rose, fearing Lachlan’s criminal network might endanger her, and destroys his notes after memorizing them.

Compelled by anger and old trauma, Fionn drives to Matt’s Elmsdale farm as a storm breaks. He spots an aluminum bat by the corn and imagines Rose’s attack. Drawn to the barn, he arms himself with a wrench and watches Matt, who belittles his wife over the phone. Memories of Fionn’s abusive father intensify his urge to strike.

As Fionn closes in, Matt’s young son enters to help with a repair. The child’s presence snaps Fionn out of his violent spiral. Shaken by how close he came to killing Matt, he abandons the plan and flees the farm into the downpour.

Back home, Fionn pours bourbon and wrestles with the darkness he felt. Hearing Rose struggling in the bathroom to remove her bandage, he checks on her. She admits fear and pain from seeing the injury. Fionn jokes to ease her tension, then deftly removes the dressing and cleans the wound, their banter warming into quiet intimacy.

Rose notes a “vicious streak” in Fionn but affirms his kindness. As he tends her leg, Fionn anchors himself in his vocation and care for Rose, acknowledging that the violent impulse remains part of him, even as he chooses to act as a healer.
