Out of Time

In Rose’s hospital room, Fionn struggles with leaving as Sloane Sutherland arrives. She updates him: Rowan and Conor are checking their car for explosives, while Lachlan and Lark have finished at the police station. Leander’s people have already cleared Abe’s apartment. Sloane thanks Fionn for enabling the cleanup and asks about his plans, but Fionn refuses to reveal where he is going.

Sloane checks on Rose’s condition, and Fionn explains the risks and slow recovery ahead. She acknowledges he got Rose through the hardest part and notes he saved Bentley, for which Lark is grateful. Their conversation exposes Fionn’s grief and fear that leaving is the only way to keep Rose safe.

Before going, Sloane hands Fionn a Zagreb Viamax office address in her name, promising to forward anything to Rose discreetly. She reveals Lark extracted Fionn’s destination from Leander with a bribe of undrugged muffins and vows not to tell Rowan or Lachlan. Sloane challenges Fionn to prove he’s “the best of them” to the person who matters—Rose—and exits.

With minutes left, Fionn tries to wake Rose, then decides it may be a mercy she sleeps through another goodbye. He admits aloud that their casual arrangement is over because he loves her, recounting moments he should have said it. Time expires; he kisses her, leaves a card on the table, and commits her image to memory.

Fionn’s letter promises love without expectation, explains his silence and departure, recalls their shared moments, and vows to return. Out of time and under pressure from Leander’s schedule, Fionn takes one final look at Rose and leaves.
