Summary
At a crowded café, Rose, Sloane, and Lark trade gossip about Lark and Lachlan. The talk shifts to Rose and Fionn. Rose admits their situation is fun but temporary, worrying both aren’t ready for more. Sloane suggests Fionn may realize what he wants only after Rose leaves.
Back at the hotel, Lark texts that Rowan has broken up with Sloane. Fionn calls: Rowan is hurt but stable, and Fionn will be late. Rose fills time with tarot, texting circus friends, and imagining futures—returning to the road, staying in Nebraska, or even starting anew in Boston.
Fionn returns drained, explaining Rowan’s hand and arm were injured and he treated him. Rose references her tarot and the violent “game” between Rowan and Sloane; they acknowledge Rowan’s recklessness and family dynamics that push Fionn to be the controlled one.
Charged attraction builds. Rose initiates, guiding Fionn’s hand and then giving him oral sex; Fionn reciprocates with intense focus, bringing Rose to a shattering climax, followed by attentive aftercare. Their physical connection underscores mutual trust and acceptance of Fionn’s darker edges.
Settled together in bed, Rose confesses she doesn’t want to go home; Fionn agrees. Rose realizes she no longer knows which home she means, confronting a looming choice between the circus life and staying where she’s forged new bonds.
