Summary
In the Geller estate’s mirage chamber control room, Rufus inserts a crystal imprint and configures the array, explaining the chamber’s illusionary mechanics. Humphrey’s illusionary body enters a simulated desert gorge, where he must protect a child, Ellie, from claw-tailed leopard monsters.
Humphrey armours up and fights skillfully with a massive wing-like sword, but two monsters slip past as he prioritizes optimal attacks over immediate defense. Ellie is killed, and Rufus resets the scenario. Danielle confronts Rufus, who admits he intends to traumatize Humphrey to break his perfectionism and hesitation.
