THE LOST LORD

At Volon Therys, Griff (Jon Connington) anxiously awaits Haldon’s return with horses, arguing with Lady Lemore about revealing Young Griff. With Dothraki across the Rhoyne and Volantis wary, Griff decides the time has come to show Aegon to the Golden Company despite risks. Haldon arrives, and the party rides to the disciplined, well-fortified camp.

Inside the captain-general’s tent, Griff meets old comrades and new officers under Homeless Harry Strickland. He publicly reveals Young Griff as Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhaegar and Elia, only to find the leadership already informed by Strickland, who has been stalling rich Yunkish offers while the company languishes.

The council debates strategy. Strickland and Lysono Maar argue that Daenerys is besieged and unreachable by sea, while others note Meereen’s blockade and the lack of ships. Some suggest accepting Yunkai’s transport, but Strickland rejects breaking contracts. As doubts mount about Daenerys’s delays, Aegon boldly proposes sailing west and claiming the Iron Throne without her.

Griff supports the shift, citing Dorne’s likely support and the realm’s instability after Tywin’s death. Tristan Rivers and several captains favor swift action, easy early victories, and the option to retreat if needed. Strickland resists, insisting on Daenerys and her Unsullied, but the captains rally to Aegon’s plan. One by one, they kneel and lay their swords at Aegon’s feet; Strickland reluctantly follows.

Afterward, Franklyn Flowers escorts the prince around camp under the alias Young Griff until they cross the Narrow Sea. Griff orders Haldon to fetch Lemore, Ser Rolly, Illyrio’s chests of coin, and Aegon’s armor, releasing the Shy Maid’s crew. Alone, Jon Connington reveals advancing greyscale on his right hand, resolves that it progresses slowly, and vows he still has time to see Aegon crowned and his own honor restored.
