Overview
Jake leaves the maimed Goldsun Eagle Prima for the hawks to judge, and Sylphie delivers the final blow, accepting responsibility. Jake claims a Key Fragment and Beastcore, then consumes a dangerous Suncore Fragment to secure it. After counseling Sylphie and resting, an interlude reveals more broken chains. Elsewhere, Miyamoto, having cleared a D-grade dungeon, briefs assembled teams for the impending Treasure Hunt.
Summary
Jake refuses to claim the downed Goldsun Eagle Prima, telling Hawkie, Mystie, and Sylphie the decision is theirs. When the parents push Sylphie forward, Jake suppresses the Prima’s last attempts with his presence and Gaze, and Sylphie swiftly kills it, accepting responsibility for provoking the conflict.
The Prima’s body dissolves into light, leaving a Key Fragment of the Exalted Prima and a D-grade Beastcore, which Jake collects. Checking the area, he finds the guarded treasure: a superheated Suncore Fragment in a cliff cave. Unable to store or carry it safely, he uses Palate of the Malefic Viper to ingest it despite the pain.
Returning, Jake notes the juvenile eagle has been slain—likely by the hawks—and settles to recover after deactivating Limit Break. He gently but firmly instructs Sylphie on scouting, planning, and leveraging her speed before fights. The hawks rest while Sylphie focuses on healing alongside Jake.
Scene shifts: in darkness, another chain breaks, leaving 996 remaining, hinting at ongoing internal or cosmic restraints weakening. Then, in Saya, Miyamoto reflects on claiming a fragment and defeating a level 136 bull Prima. He meets nearly a hundred gathered for a D-grade dungeon briefing, discouraging outdated servitude customs.
Miyamoto outlines the dungeon’s ecology—canine and bovine beasts, variants up to 116, alphas near 125, and two bosses at 135 (werewolf and Minotaur) who battle each other—advising strategies and sharing skills and risks. He emphasizes preparation for the Treasure Hunt, now less than two weeks away.
