64. Singular Focus

Jake relaxes with Sylphie, proud of her rapid growth and D-grade kill, yet warns her to avoid the faster, long-limbed monkeys. He reflects on family anxieties but chooses to focus on alchemy and supporting Sylphie’s happiness and growth.

While Jake commits to crafting common Agility elixirs, Vilastromoz laments that Jake has ignored the powerful Path of the Heretic-Chosen skill, which uniquely shows uncurated Records beyond a god’s control and has unlocked a new use at profession 110. Jake, however, remains lost in work.

Days blur as Jake mass-produces common Agility elixirs, then develops a common Vitality elixir using Deepdweller Warrior cores for sale. Lillian brokers sales through the System Store, with Sultan buying many due to Earth’s scarcity of stat items. Mystie and Hawkie supply Sunshade Eagle cores from a canyon, enabling Jake to craft common Perception elixirs, which he consumes for a total +69 Perception.

Running out of eagle cores, Jake pushes for uncommon elixirs. He learns higher rarity elixirs mainly demand better materials and more energy, not radically new methods. He succeeds with an uncommon Agility elixir using a Tri-Lighttail Dervish core, upgrades his Craft Elixir skill to allow uncommon, and also completes an uncommon Vitality elixir while reserving Perception for later cores.

After weeks of near-total focus and postponed meetings, Vilastromoz finally shouts at Jake to check notifications and the Path skill. Jake then notices multiple level-ups, culminating in profession level 120 and race level 124. He resolves to examine the new profession skill but, reminded by Villy, turns to finally address Path of the Heretic-Chosen.
