31. Deepdwellers vs Cave Troll (feat. Jake)

Jake hides above the Undergrowth, observing a standoff between a Cave Troll and a Deepdweller force led by a Warlord and Fungalmancers. After large reinforcements arrive, the Deepdwellers finally attack, coating weapons with amplified poison and surging in under the Warlord’s green aura.

The Cave Troll absorbs volleys, counters with devastating club swings, yet suffers deep wounds from the Warlord’s halberd and focused leg stabs. When pressed, the troll erupts earth spikes, killing and injuring many, then rapidly regenerates, creating a brief stalemate before resuming control by liquefying the battlefield with earth manipulation.

To regain momentum, Fungalmancers force five warriors to consume crystals, mutating them into near-unkillable brutes, and begin channeling the same lethal ritual previously used against Jake. Deciding not to allow it, Jake prepares necrotic-coated arrows and opens fire, instantly killing a Fungalmancer and detonating the ritual formation with splitting arcane shots.

With their backline collapsing, Deepdwellers falter. The Warlord dashes into the cave and emerges cradling a Golden Mushroom, but Jake unleashes a charged Arcane Powershot enhanced by Gaze of the Apex Hunter, blasting the Warlord away and forcing it to drop the mushroom.

Amid the scramble for the Golden Mushroom, Jake continues sniping, focusing necrotic poisons and explosions on mutated warriors, while the troll seizes the chance to slaughter regular Deepdwellers. In under a minute, two Fungalmancers and multiple warriors lie dead or disabled, the Warlord is severely injured and displaced, and the battle descends into chaos favoring the troll and Jake’s interference.
