Overview
Jake formalizes ruthless hunting rules and executes hit-and-run tactics against the Lighttail Monkeys. He one-shots a lvl 131 Dervish, uses decoy explosions, and levels up during a day-long guerrilla campaign. Preparing poisoned arcane arrows, he triggers Limit Break to grievously wound a Matriarch and poison her guard, initiating a prolonged pursuit away from the temple and the Prima.
Summary
Jake outlines five rules for invading the Lighttail Monkeys’ ancient temple grounds: stay airborne, isolate small groups, avoid the Prima, and—his unique rule—kill in a single shot, then immediately flee. He demonstrates this by one-shotting a lvl 131 Tri-Lighttail Dervish with Arrow of the Ambitious Hunter empowered by Arcane Powershot and poison, then escaping before the tribe can converge.
He exploits the monkeys’ tracking and coordination by flying high through the canopy, masking himself with his cloak, and setting explosive arcane decoys. Using Splitting Arrow and Arcane Hunter’s Arrows, he injures clustered D-grades and finishes them from afar. When the Matriarch is far from the Prima, Jake activates a safe 10% Limit Break to amplify his presence and power. He fires an Arrow of the Ambitious Hunter with Arcane Powershot, using Gaze of the Apex Hunter to freeze the Matriarch and several Dervishes just long enough to land a belly hit that leaves a gaping, poisoned wound. He then rapidly tags all seven Dervishes with poisoned shots, overstraining his eyes with repeated Gaze.
With the escort compromised, Jake disengages, kiting the group through the forest. He scatters poison clouds, looses additional poisoned and explosive arrows, and exploits the terrain with stealthy strikes and brief teleports. The chapter closes with Jake firmly in control of a prolonged hunt, turning the monkeys’ home field into his killing ground.
