Summary
One day after the prior events, Augustus knocks, suspicious about noises. Patro and Achilles block the doorway and claim they are having sex to keep Augustus and Kharon from seeing inside. In the hall, Alexis appears content and closely flanked by Augustus and Kharon, with Poco and a hulking protector trailing her, underscoring their settled triad.
Inside, Patro and Achilles confront Medusa to force answers. Medusa bristles and tries to leave; Patro blocks her and restrains her wrist, taunting her and testing her story. The physical contact and her defiance trigger Patro’s traumatic memories of a Gorgon tutor’s abuse.
Achilles signs reassurance to ground Patro, while Medusa accuses Patro of misdirected anger and says he lives in Achilles’s shadow. Patro’s truth-sensing touch burns, confirming her words as truth, rattling him. He reveals they have been assigned as her new bodyguards and will be in close quarters, needling her with provocative insinuations.
