Phoenix moves to stab Mia, Keres intervenes, and a gunshot kills Phoenix. Mia survives and reunites with Lorenzo, while Keres is severely wounded and collapses into unknown arms.
Summary
Keres enters the basement aiming at Ace and Romeo to buy time, focusing on saving both Mia and Phoenix. She pleads with Phoenix to release Mia, claiming the Moretti brothers were not involved in their father’s trafficking and that Ace knows the real culprit. Phoenix rejects the appeal, fixating on vengeance against the Morettis.
Lorenzo descends with his gun drawn, ordering Phoenix to let Mia go and promising she can walk out. Phoenix escalates, pressing the knife to Mia’s throat and threatening her pregnancy, further tightening the peril. Keres disarms herself to earn trust and inches closer, promising they can chase the real target together.
When Phoenix raises the knife toward Mia’s stomach, time fractures. Lorenzo charges, Ace and Romeo move, and Keres dives in first, blocking the strike with her arm and wrenching the knife free. Blood floods Mia’s dress as a gunshot cracks through the room; Phoenix falls dead with a bullet wound between her eyes.
Lorenzo gathers a sobbing Mia, vowing his love while Keres reels from blood loss, realizing the blood on Mia is largely from Keres’s own deep wrist gash. Overcome by grief for Phoenix and her own injuries, Keres collapses as a strong pair of arms catches her, the outcome for her survival uncertain.
